Just when you think you know someone really well, when you think you know everything there is to know about them, when you think you know them up, close and personal, they can turn around and show you a whole new side of them.
You never realised what she was doing behind your back, you didn't think that you would have to take notice of her every move.
She told you she never really had close friends. She told you that her family lives far away. Her job as a kindergarten teacher is only during the mornings. Yet, she had been out every afternoon for a month after she moved in with you into your one room studio apartment
Wasn't it obvious? She was cheating on you. Was it the new principal at school? The other teachers said he was charming. Weren't you?
Were you not keeping her happy? What did you do wrong that pushed her away from you?
And what did she say when you talked to her about her afternoons away?
Oh wait, you never did talk to her. You never asked her.
You just left her a note never to talk to you again and moved on with your life.
If you had asked, you would have known that she was working at a diner to earn some extra money so you both could have a better future at a better apartment. She didn't tell you because she thought you would worry that she works too hard.
And now she sits in an empty one room studio apartment wondering which other woman pushed you away from her. Was it the new secretary at your office? They said she's beautiful. Isn't she?
You can't really know someone unless you trust them.
It's all about perspective.
